'H.R Pufnstuf,' based on the beloved children's series from Sid and Marty Krofft in 1969, is an illustrated picture book that I created for my Visual Narrative elective in my third year studying at uni.
The idea of the project was to reimagine the story and style of H.R pufnstuf as a darker and more realistic interpretation. I took inspiration from the Spike Jonze film 'Where the wild things are,' and the illustrations of the children's fantasy novels, 'The Spiderwick Chronicles,' by Tony Diterlizzi and Holly Black through the visual style and tone of my book.
The book contains a selection of pages from the story and serves as more of a proof of concept rather than a completed book, with a physical prototype being made for final submission.
